A Wayne Township family's pets are safe and sound after firefighters rescued them from a burning home Wednesday morning. Crews arrived at the home in the 3200 block of State Route 131 in Clermont County just before 8 a.m. to find heavy smoke and flames in the front of the building. - Financial assistance for spaying/neutering pets still available (Paris Beacon)

The pets of the week are Laurel and Rico. Laurel (0947) is a petite Rat Terrier mix with a very sweet face. She loves to play and would make a great house dog.
